Frequently Asked Questions
FOR COMMISSIONED ARTWORKS
WHAT MEDIUM/MATERIALS ARE USED FOR COMMISSIONS?
Jessica Jane uses archival ink fineliners (Zig Millennium and Pigma Micron brand) to draw commissions on 300gsm smooth archers paper. Using such fine drawing materials allows use of stippling and fine mark making to create a detailed piece.
WHAT SIZES ARE OFFERED AND HOW MANY ANIMALS CAN BE DRAWN IN ONE IMAGE?
Jessica offers a variety of sizes to aid to a clients particular wall space or price range. Sizes include A6, A5, A4, A3 and A2.
Due to the small size only one animal can be drawn in sizes A6 to A5. One to two animals can be drawn in size A4 and one to three animals can be included in sizes A3 to A2. If you require a larger size or want to include extra animals/people or a background please contact Jessica to see if this is possible (added elements to drawing will increase the commission price).
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE A COMMISSIONED PORTRAIT?
Please allow 1 week for A6 - A5 portraits, 1-2 weeks for A4 portraits, 2-3 weeks for A3 portraits and 3-4 weeks for A2 portraits to be completed. If you do have a time constraint let me know before ordering and I will confirm if I can get it too you on time!
HOW LONG IS SHIPPING?
Once notified of artwork being delivered to the post, domestic shipping within Australia can be between two to seven days. International shipping can be between one to three weeks. Express post is available at checkout.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY PHOTO IS GOOD ENOUGH QUALITY TO PROVIDE AS A REFERENCE?
Natural, clear lighting. Animals/person are in focus with clear indication of details and features. Pet looking directly at the camera or with head turned to a 3/4 angle. Photos are taken at a level angle or close to animals eye level. You are able to zoom into the picture to the size being drawn and still have it be clear. The better the photo the better the portrait! 300dpi preferably.
WHAT MAKES A BAD REFERENCE PHOTO?
Very harsh or dark lighting. Your pet is moving while the photo was taken so your pet is blurry. Harsh angles - photos that are taken from above (your pet is on the ground and you are standing over them). Image of pet is cropped so part of their features are missing. Image is blurry/pixelated when zoomed in.
DOES MY ARTWORK COME FRAMED?
No, due to shipping costs and handling, frames are not recommenced to be delivered with an original artwork. I am however familiar with custom framing and can recommend a variety of framers to suit your price range or style choices.
